The 167th Episode : Lake Michigan in fog

Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey

[October, 2005 Chicago, U.S.A.]

I definitely transferred at the airports in the mainland of the U.S. on the way to Canada and/or the Latin America, and even if I stayed there it was only one day just for transit.  This was the first time to stay in the mainland for some days with a purpose.

In October, 2005, the first place in the U.S. was Chicago, Illinois state.  Our aircraft reached over the Chicago O’Hare International Airport, but had been continuing to turn already for one hour.  I thought that was why the airport had the highest number of take-offs and landings in the world (in 2005), but not actually.

Fog from Lake Michigan in east of the town obstructed visibility.  It would often happens, they said.  It took another time but landed safely.
