The 121st Episode : How's the maintenance of the equipment!?
[May, 1998 Santiago, Chile]
I got a pleasant souvenir (orders) and was to move triumphantly to the next place, Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. To the east over the Andes. The car passed by the grape fields as well as the outward, to reach the airport. LanChile, the representative airways of Chile, would take me to Montevideo. My seat was at the very back. It was a short flight but I could recline without minding the back seat. Still more I could enjoy the talk with the flight attendants.
When I leaned the seat was slightly reclining even I didn’t touch the button. I tried to restore but reclined again. The explanation for the emergency began. I advised a flight attendant about the trouble on the backrest, but she said that was OK ‘cause nobody was behind you. If you mind it you can change your seat, as many vacant seats were there. No, no, I don’t mean that but is the maintenance OK? I was a little anxious, but troublesome to change the seat so I stayed at the seat.
Passengers restore the backrest on taking off and landing. It is for the people behind to keep the space wider and to get out easily on the emergency case. I knew at that time first. I thought it is troublesome for the flight attendants to do, so they have the passengers do that.
