The 58th Episode : Free for fixed-route bus
[July, 1991 Hawaii]
We had free movement upto the evening on the day of party. Most of people joined some optional tours and went to the party site. I didn’t join anything as I don’t like very much to join an optional tour, going some places in group. I wanted to take pictures what I like, walking erratically. A bus would leave at three or four in the afternoon for the party site from the hotel for the people like me, before when I should go back. My decision was to take the bus.
There was another way to take a fixed-route bus. And how wonderful it was, because it was free. The bus service in Hawaii was public that was managed with tax, so people could use at free of charge, even foreigners. Surprised! We need to pay even for the public transportation, even we paid tax in Japan.
Hey Japanese politicians, you often go abroad saying for abroad inspection. Do study how to use tax!
